The 4 piece orchestral/random instrument group from Iceland has released a full length LP, Kurr, on their label, Bláskjár Records.If you have seen Sigur Ros in the past couple years you would remember them as the opening act and then as the backing orchestral section for Sigur Ros' set.
Besides strings Amiina incorporate many unconventional instruments such as: a saw, drinking glasses, music boxes, toy pianos, etc.
Really different stuff, I to thought it was wierd at first, but then after seeing them open for Sigur Ros the second time I was hooked. Their music is great ambiance music for any setting...
